When I don't have any idea what to listen to, I always play an "old" Radical Face album (yes, Ghost begins to be old, but it's still one of the greatest album I've listened to so far), some Sufjan Stevens' songs from Illinois (or The Avalanche), or something like that. But if you want something new, here's what I can recommend you (if you don't know them already) : Beirut - Nantes (and the whole "Flying Club Cup" album... Or the whole discography, actually) Owen Pallett - This Lamb Sells Condos (and the whole discography too) And if you don't like it, or you want something different, I recommend you the youtube channel of La Blogothèque, people who do some Take Away Shows as they call them, some intimate music sessions in flats, or in the street, etc. It's always original and really great : http://www.youtube.com/user/LaBlogotheque/videos
Since I've shared my "best of" list here the last couple years, might as well do it this year too! Enjoy! http://paulmantiniaudio.blogspot.ca/p/best-of-2013.html
Some great albums on there, namely Oblivion Hymns and Kveikur. Though I wouldn't ever dream of putting anything above Ben's music, personally.
Fabh, thanks for the recommendation! Really loved Beirut. Got Flying Club Cup album now! Still looking for winter log cabin type music though, if that makes sense
Struggled to think of many off the top of my head, unfortunately, but here's a couple of tracks I enjoy. 65daysofstatic -- Drove Through Ghosts to Get Here Oliver Tank -- You Never Know
