General stuff that I didn't know where to post

And I forget I have a facebook. I don't think I've ever logged into it before. Hahaha.

It's a bit different from the new record as well (which is also a bit different than Ghost). The EPs will be all those kinda songs that I don't know what to do with from this project, or just don't make sense on the records.

Not quite. The EP is 3 songs that didn't make a lot of sense on the record. But they were recorded at the same time. So they are similar in an engineering sense, but not in terms of mood and songwriting style. "Deserter's Song" was also a B-side from The Roots recording sessions.

As for differences between this one and Ghost, it's simpler in terms of production. The instrument choices were more focused, and I didn't use many studio tricks. I kind of left the instruments as they were, and wanted to get the feel across with songwriting instead (albums 2 and 3 get more complicated in terms of instruments and sounds ... kinda to show time passing). This was also the first time I've ever made a record without using distortion. I used that as a rule, and it was hard at times. I really like distortion. And then in terms of mood -- I'd say this is a "prettier" record as far as the music goes, but the subject matters are pretty grim. I was in a rough spot when writing a lot of this. But I think that more comes through in the words than anything else. It could probably be ignored if someone wanted to. It's also more directly based around storytelling. Not to say Ghost wasn't built around that as well, but I was more direct with it this time.

But that's just how it is to me. I'm sure to others the differences will be apparent in completely different ways. It's always hard to say how someone else hears the same thing.

Oh, no. It's free. At least for a while. I'm about to post it on the new page as well. I've just been working on this music video all week and haven't had time for anything else. Jumping into ditches and trying not to get kicked off private property is surprisingly time consuming.

And thanks, folks. Glad you like it. I figure these free EPs will be a better way to get the material out then just letting them sit on harddrives. And once the whole set is done, I'll probably collect into one full disc. So I guess this project will really be 4 records instead of 3 in the end. But that's all down the road anyway.
