Thanks! Both for the support, and the feedback. It's weird to finally have it out. I finished it, what, almost a year and a half ago now? Haha. I've already been building and tracking album two for a good 6 months, and had time to wrap up Clone as well. But better late than never, as it goes.

I am baffled as to how some folks got to download it, while my preorder just, well, preordered it. Damn. I feel left out!

I'm confused, wasn't this supposed to be out on October?

EDIT: Are there any preorders for physical CDs, and if so, is there any chances we could have them signed? :D

I'm in the UK. Maybe we got lucky for a change ?

was just about to ask the same thing, I'd much rather have a CD than digital download, because I have real issues with iTunes DRM restrictions, and also because I wanted to try for the limited t-shirt pre-order pack (if still an option). And of course having a signed copy would just about make this crappy year have a bit of a happy ending hahaha.

I have a question concerning this. Will there be a limited edition CD for this album? I think I read that somewhere on the site.
I'm waiting to buy that version(waiting for the physical CD even if there is no limited edition) instead of the digital download. Or is that part of the Deluxe iTunes pre-order? I don't want to miss out! D:

I can download this album on itunes but I prefer the physical CD too but I saw two differents version of this album one with all is well and we're on our way and the other without, this song will be on the physical cd or not ?

Yeah Ben, I'd love to be able to preorder a CD with one of those shirts - awesome artwork dude!

Yeah, there will be a physical CD. But not really a standard one. As things are now, people don't really buy CDs casually anymore. Myself included. I buy them when I specifically like the record or artist and want to own them, and when I want to support what they're doing. So I figure if I'm gonna bother to make a physical product, it should be something more interesting. Making a cheap CD for people to pick up on a whim makes no sense. Collectible or digital are the way to go. But I've actually been arguing this for about almost 7 years now.

So the only physical CD I made is a digibook. It's basically a mini hardback book, with a 20 page booklet bound into it (with both artwork and all the lyrics). I'm also pressing vinyl, but I screwed that up and it won't be available until a month after release. But I'm doing the vinyl 180 gram, with an 11x11 poster inside, and all the lyrics are on the back of the poster. And anyone who buys a physical copy will get the download of the mp3s immediately. I'm also gonna make flacs available, just because I like the format.

I'm just scrambling to get the web store together, and the production finished. I found out this summer that I'm not very good at time management. Hahaha. But I should hopefully have it all up early next week.

Oh, but the physical CD does not have the Bastards EP included. Those won't be on anything physical until the end of the entire project, where I will likely collect the 4 EPs onto a disc just called "The Family Tree: The Bastards." They'll just be put up digitally, and for free, until then.

Oh, and the EP isn't available for a little while because of an exclusivity thing with itunes. But it will come back up for free on the site after all that stuff is done.

Will there be some kind of group package with the digibook and vinyll? I'd buy that in an instant
Can't wait for the webstore to be up.

This sounds great, Ben! I'll be sure to stalk the site early next week!

I agree that getting collecter's editions of cd's is awesome. The book sounds like a great idea, definitely something I'd love. I just have a few questions. Will the poster come with the cd? (I have no record player) And if not will there be posters for sale on the webstore? Either way is fine, I'd just love to get my hands on a poster. And lastly, when will the t shirts be available?
Sorry I know it must be a ton of work to get everything organized, I just want to make sure I don't miss out when you release everything!

isn't it great that making music has become so easy with the onset of technolgy :p

Glad to hear you will make it available in FLAC format...especially if you are going to release it in 24bit...i'm like you - i purchase in high quality digital (FLAC) or physical if it is a special release...May i suggest you use bandcamp.com to post your FLAC files? i've purchased from them before (straight through their site on Sufjan stuff as well as Deep Elm bands)...if you are trying to get your store going, you can use them as a back-end...i honestly have nothing to do with them (don't work for them or anything) - just love it when artists release their music in uncompressed formats so when i purchase it i get exactly what you intended...

As a fan, let me tell you that your music is inspiring and i've brought it to the very small masses here in Utah that i call friends...we are all in awe of your talent...

I was planning to wait for a CD but I fell foul of temptation and downloaded on Itunes yesterday :) Its amazing, I like how the stories are told more clearly so you can follow whats going on. It got me thinking about what the 'family tree' is and I've started trying to work out who is linked with who in the songs.

I love the idea of the book album, posters and the signed copies that was mentioned somewhere. You can add me to the list for all of those things :)
