Really nice man, you play well and clearly have a good ear for music. Kinda reminded me of the opening to the Doors track, The End. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aGmAmJFUvzM
Thanks very much for your comment and encouragement! I'd never noticed the similarity to The End, but you're right, I can definitely hear what you mean. I'm really enjoying a lot of the stuff people are sharing on here, hope everyone keeps at it!
Song for Oceans is very calming. I liked it! Me and my friend formed a duo a few months back which we call Jef, for various reasons. We made this today. http://soundcloud.com/magicalzebra/a-lovely-day-with-jef https://www.facebook.com/pages/Jef/285395558227638 here's a modest little link to our facebook page
Thanks! Just listened to the tune you linked, you and your friend have a really cool sound, the track builds really well. The ukelele (I think that's what it is anyway!) sounds great.
I've been recording alternate versions of my full band stuff (www.sleepwellband.com) just to learn more about mixing/mastering in Logic Pro. I threw this track together in Garageband and have been working on mastering it the past couple weeks. Still not done, but thought i'd throw this up here in case anyone was interested! www.soundcloud.com/sleepwelladam/the-grief-alt-version. Enjoy.
That's a really nice track Seamus, I could listen to a lot more of that have you heard of Balmorhea? The similarity of your style really jumped out at me.
Well, it's not me but one of my friends, the video is not really good but it's my favorite song that he wrote ! I hope you'll like it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2aODuaVPpnU&feature=relmfu
Thank you very much! I haven't heard of Balmorhea, but I'll be sure to check them out. It's really encouraging to hear you enjoyed my track, so thanks again.
Wow, I've neglected my thread. I still need to go back and listen to a few posts, but everything so far has been quite awesome/impressive. I haven't recorded anything since the start of this thread. I've got some ideas brewin' though!
Really like this, sounds a bit like Explosions in the Sky! That song feels like it's just kicking in just as it ends, would love to hear more of your stuff!
Thanks Soapbar! I actually put up another version of Song for Oceans, which is basically just a reversed version of it tacked onto the end. But I thought it kind of weirdly worked. I'm thinking of focusing more on instrumental music like this now, because my voice isn't very strong, and I'm getting more into using weird effects rather than the purely acoustic stuff I used to do.
I've been trying to get some kind of EP together for months now. This will be the last track and I'm really proud of it. As always appreciate anyone's comments http://soundcloud.com/iamnotlost/all-that-matters-all-we-chose
That's a really good track Soapbar. When I heard the opening notes, I wasn't expecting it to go where it did. It's amazing, you should be proud!
Hey Soapbar, I finally took a listen to your recent track posting, and I think it's great. And it must of been real fun getting some of your work put together and finally finished up for an EP. I'm sure it'll take you places and you'll see alot with your finished works. Nice!
Thanks for comments, I'm pleased you enjoyed that track. Yeah originally I wanted an epic finish with drums/distorted guitars but settled on the ebow ending - it's suppose to be very sad song so think it fits :/ I've uploaded the EP if anyone's interested http://soundcloud.com/iamnotlost/sets/death-or-glory-ep
My longest bedroom creation yet. It's over a minute! I've no idea what genre to call it, but I'm kind of proud. I used a recorder. https://soundcloud.com/magicalzebra/interesting-cat Edit: wait, no, I have one that's longer than this. Bugger.
You guys are posting some neat stuff so I thought I would share the intro track of a project I am working on. It is just a demo of it and something I did to get the hang of my recording interface and equipment. I am hoping to get the EP version wrapped up in a week or so and get the rest of them finished within the next few months. https://soundcloud.com/mattar-1/homesick It is super quiet because I was still getting the hang of leveling, I suggest headphones or decent speakers to be able to hear it.
Very cool! Just so everyone can hear it better, I did a super quick and dirty mastering job on it if you'd like to upload it to your soundcloud instead: http://www.mediafire.com/?mg05oc6914d5a9m
Hey man thanks a lot! I will soon be returning to the recording thread to ask a ton of questions once I start tracking more instruments. new link to the now audible song: https://soundcloud.com/mattar-1/homesick_master
