Hi all, I'm trying to figure out a legit place to find The Junkyard Chandelier. Any guidance would be appreciated. If there is a forum with this information already in place, feel free to delete this thread. Thanks, Anthony
Hi Anthony, there's a totally legit place - Ben himself posted the link somewhat hidden in the "Q&A" thread. Regards jp
Yeah, JP beat me to it, but I keep a copy on my server for anyone who wants it. Feel free to download it.
Got it! Gave it a few listens and I like it. It reminds me of a blend of a Radical Face album and the Uncle Stiltskin stuff (Which, btw, Undead Anthem is ridiculously catchy and got stuck in my head a while back for several days in a row). Ben, your singing seems a lot different in your earlier work than now. Is it because you are singing differently, using different equipment, or just artistic evolution?
All of the above. I've developed more range since then (I can't believe that record is about 9 years old now ... sheesh), but I also have different gear (I made that record on a digital 8 track with two microphones ... one of them borrowed) and I try to change my vocals some on every record, both in production and actual delivery. I will never have much of a singing voice, but I've gotten a lot more out of it than I initially thought I ever could.
Well, for what it is worth, you might be underestimating yourself. The acoustic version of Glory and The Deserter's Song from your Touch the Sky EP work because of the strength of the vocals--in my humble opinion, of course. I'd probably say Glory has the largest range...though I haven't heard anything from The Roots, yet. One more day!
