Wow thanks! The image for the shirt is actually on there as well. I make animal shirts and Ben really wanted a bear shirt. So I made him one and just for fun I added a silkscreen print of a design I was working on at the time. He liked it and asked me if I was interested in printing it on T-shirts for Radical Face. Of course I said yes
Hey Ben. Are your emails working again? How do I contact Brittany? I have a query about the web orders. Thanks.
Bleubird has released a very cool vinyl postcard pressing of "Down Like Brothers" that was produced by Ben and Astro and features vocals by Ben. You can get it here: http://bleubird.org/news/vinyl-postcards-are-hurrr/ Worth getting for the cat pictures alone!
This is so cool I had to buy one. I was distraught until I noticed the bit for European friends. I wasn't even sure I liked the song at first but it's definitely growing on me on the second listen.
Yep, agreed. I'm not a massive rap fan, but Cannonball really is quite a cool album. It just struck me as being original and fun, unlike much of the morose hipster rubbish being churned out these days. It's nice to hear an act that doesn't take themselves too seriously, just doing what they enjoy, rather than trying to improve their street cred with self flagellation, synthesizers and excessive reverb. Pretty sure there is a full vinyl release of Cannonball just around the corner, so I'll be ready to snap up a copy. UPDATE: The vinyl release of Cannonball just hit the website today. Only 100 copies so prolly won't last long: http://bleubird.org/news/cannonball-vinyl-4ale/
Yeah, I think those went pretty quick. And I was brought in on that album more at the end. Initially, Astro was producing it for him and they asked if I would mix it. But some of the issues were larger than mixing and some songs got reworked. I produced a handful of songs from scratch. But yeah, Bleubird is a really fun dude, and I'm glad this record shows some of that off. If you ever get a chance to see him live, you should. He puts on a show, for sure.
On the subject of Radical Face vinyl, I bought both of the "you have the right to remain awesome" Electric President records a while ago but I hadn't listened to them yet. I took them to my girlfriend's house today (because she has a fully functioning record player) and played them. Dotted Lines is such an awesome song. And the other ones. But I think Dotted Lines is my new favourite. Also, Down Like Bros should be arriving tomorrow!
I got a record player for my birthday (Pro-ject Debut III) and have finally unwrapped The Roots after all this time. The sound is phenomenal! Pops and clicks and all. Now I need to get Ghost from my parent's house.
I think I might have to buy ghost on vinyl for my girlfriend just so I can hear it on a record player
A few days ago picked up an old Sony record player for £4 at a car boot sale. It works fine but doesn't sound quite right, it makes harsh sss sounds. This made me realise I hadn't played any Radical Face on it yet, maybe that will fix it!?
Good suggestion but its not that, I had to replace the stylus straight away as the original one had snapped. I ended up having to spend more or the new stylus that the player itself! I haven't played anything important on it yet in case it is a problem with the arm weighting or something mechanical like that which could damage the vinyl.
