Quick review of the first gig of the French tour in Vannes at "L'echonova"
Great line-up : Benjamin Francis Leftwich // Rover // Radical Face which promised a great evening and finally live up my expectations and even more!! The concert was both emotional and funny, mix of goosebumps and laughter. It was nice to hear stories behind the songs, and very sweet to speak french! & thank you for the pre-encore, which was as inexpected as successful!!
Ben, Jack & Jeremiah, that was a lovely night! I'm looking forward to tomorrow for the second round, i hope you had time to practice french in between. ;)
[[sorry if my english is not perfect, i have to practice too...]]
I did some fotos and some videos, i'll upload asap if it's fine for you.

Yeh nice videos. Doorways sounded strange live, I guess its just because of having guitar instead of piano.

Would also just like to say I explored your channel a bit and you have some great videos of Laura Marling, Tallest Man on Earth and Johnny Flynn live! They're all artists I really want to see live at some point, along with Mumford and Sons and people like that. I've mean meaning to post this on the music thread but I can definitely recommend them :D

    Few more videos coming...
Doorways, Ghost Towns and Always Gold(coming soon) are among my favorites both "recorded" and live version. A bit sad that the french tour is now over, but can't complain, since i could assist to two wonderful concerts. Belgium, dutch and german people now it's your turn, enjoy!!

About other concerts, well, i've seen The Tallest Man on Earth like, well, maybe, it's better not tell you how many times, i don't want to look crazy^^, but he is amazing, he only needs his guitar to catch a full venue (he is currently recording a new album btw which should be released in June and then a new tour will come, can't wait!!:D), Laura Marling is incredible too, but when i saw her, the french audience was zero, hope to see her in best conditions; i'm also dying too see Mumford & Sons, i've watched their performances on YT an insane numbers of times... you should have a look on Villagers as well! ;) Btw, where are you from Hughesypf ?

I'm from England so I guess I really should be making the most of having Laura Marling, Mumford and Sons etc. regularly performing live in the country, but I haven't yet! Part of the reason is alot of venues are 18+ (same problem with the RF london show :() and then theres the travelling. I'll definitely have a listen to Villagers seeing as you seem to have similar tastes in music as me. Also, I only discovered some of the above mentioned British folk acts when I started listening to more 'alternative' music through Radical Face, so i'm hoping the forum will lead me to many other music discoveries :)

Thank you for giving me an impression what to expect tomorrow in Amsterdam.
I'm looking forward to it. Did you also record Benjamin Francis Leftwich?

    Greetings from John,

    Hallo John,

It should be awesome, don't worry, and even more in Paradiso! Lucky guys, i love this place!! I have two videos of Benjamin Francis Leftwich, but not online yet since upload always stops, don't know why! :( But trust me, you will have a beautiful evening from beginning to end!;)
So enjoy, and come back soon to share with us your feeling about it!

    Tot ziens

Oh i didn't pay attention to your age, i've noticed a lot of venues are excluded for underages in UK, never really seen this problem in France... Be patient, these bands will still be there in few years (i hope so!!!!!) so you can travel all along the UK. (I was more in a hip-hop mood at fourteen, i would not have thought to be fond of folk music later!:D)

They ended up not checking ID at the Lexington. Two of my friends who were under age ended up getting in. I hope this doesn't make you feel like you missed out now

Argh, seriously? I'm afraid it very much makes me feel like I missed out! But its my own fault for not just risking it :(. On their website they had loads of things saying 'strictly 18+' but I guess they weren't that bothered after all.
  13. Gabbers Member

I even sent them an email asking how strict it was and the reply went somewhere along the lines of "Very. Sorry...". I guess we just got lucky there.

Just home from the Paradiso concert. It was very entertaining. Listening to a man on a chair with pain in his back, making jokes about his songs about depressed people, people having problems and dying families. And finally his two companions were running and dancing on the stage with their drumsticks ending falling on the ground. I enjoyed it and I hope Ben too! There was no rehearsal needed for the chorus of "Welcome Home". The young Amsterdam audience (a lot of students) sung it loud and clear(?). He told he was used to concert halls filled with about 40 peoples and not like more than 800 this evening. So I'll hope he'll remember this (bloody cold) evening.

Amelie, thank you for Benjamin Francis Leftwich videos. He was thankful to his audience, also impressed by their numbers I think. A nice experience for him and hope he will develope in the near future as an entertainer. We had not the pleasure of seeing Rover as you did. I saw a song from them on You Tube and was impressed by that sound. It was more near to the sound of Radical Face than Benjamin Francis Leftfield was.

Grabber, succes with your exams. I'll hope that Ben will put you on the artistlist when he'll play in your area, so they can't refuse you.

Ben, if you read this: maybe you could write a song about people dying after a concert of you in the cold of Amsterdam, being disorientated about your lyrics and then perform this next time when you will come back to Amsterdam.
Thanks for your enthusiasm this night and good luck with the rest of your tour.

Hello to all of you. Excuse me because of my horrible english. I´m from Germany and recognized Radical Face because of the Nikon Spot in TV. That is about a half year ago. Now i can´t wait to see Ben in Cologne this Sunday evening. I hope it will as fantastic as the evenings so far. Since half a year in my car and at home there is only music from Ben as Radical Face or with Alex Kane (Electric President). Never before there was an artist so fantastic to me than Ben Cooper. I hope it will be an unforgetable evening.
