Thank you for sharing this story. You prove you are sensitive about the emotions your friend is feeling.
But your conclusion bothers me. Your friend is in a depression, and you conclude that human being is funny...

I think the point of it is that when it comes down to it, the Human condition is irrational and ultimately insurmountable, leaving everyone feeling incomplete and disconnected in some way, and often times the reasons for such strong and irrational feelings and behavior can stem back to something as silly as someone not saying Hello, or making a trivial mistake and letting it fester into a deeper darker ache. Literal reason's for feeling poorly are hardly what make them so incredibly debilitating, it is the connotations that are drawn from such instances, and in turn the connotations drawn from that. It leads to an endless maize of self doubt, a sense of worthlessness, emptiness, and isolation, and when left unchecked can be a terrible force upon one's life. At the same time, it is also the very characteristic that binds us to what it is to be human.

Your english is quite good, but this is a subject that is difficult to express regardless of what language you speak, and often makes the most sense within the confines of one's own head. It just so happens one's own head is riddled with the human condition thus obscuring the true nature of things.
